Team Info

FC Argeș Pitești is a Romanian football club with a rich history, based in Pitești and competing in the Romanian SuperLiga, the top division of Romanian football. The club's full name is Fotbal Club Argeș, and they play their home matches at the Stadionul Nicolae Dobrin. Founded in 1953, the team's colors are violet and white. The club's name derives from the Argeș County and River, symbolizing its regional identity. Argeș enjoyed its golden era in the 1970s, led by the legendary Romanian footballer Nicolae Dobrin, winning the Liga I championship in 1972 and the Cupa României in 1973. That period established the club as a major force in Romanian football. In the modern era, Argeș has oscillated between the top two divisions, with recent promotions bringing them back to the SuperLiga where they aim to re-establish themselves as a stable top-flight club. The fan base is passionate and nostalgic for the glory days, creating a vibrant atmosphere at the stadium. FC Argeș remains a club with a proud history and a determined presence in Romanian football's highest league.
