Team Info

America PE is a traditional football club based in Recife, Pernambuco, currently competing in the Campeonato Pernambucano de Futebol Série A2. As one of the oldest clubs in the state, America carries a rich history, having been founded in the early 20th century. The club plays its home games at the historic Estádio dos Aflitos, which it shares with rivals Náutico. America's golden era saw them claim multiple state championships in the top division, but in recent decades, the club has faced challenges, leading to its presence in the second tier. The team, nicknamed "O Mecão," is known for its passionate and loyal fan base, who maintain strong support despite the club's current status. The current squad blends experienced campaigners with young talents aiming to restore America to its former glory in the Pernambucano Série A1. The club remains a fundamental pillar of Recife's fierce footballing rivalry alongside Sport, Náutico, and Santa Cruz.
