Sporting Gijon edged local rivals Marino Luanco 2-1 in a pre-season friendly that offered plenty of entertainment. The Segunda División side used the match to test combinations against a determined third-tier opponent.
First-Half Domination
Sporting started strongly and controlled the tempo from the first whistle. They took a well-deserved lead in the 18th minute when a flowing move culminated in a precise finish from inside the box.
