Shinnik Yaroslavl and Yenisey Krasnoyarsk played out a 1-1 draw in a hard-fought Russian First League encounter. The result does little to help either side's aspirations of challenging for promotion this season. Yenisey took the lead against the run of play late in the first half with a well-taken goal on the break. Shinnik, spurred on by their home support, piled on the pressure in the second period and were finally rewarded with an equalizer from close range with twenty minutes remaining. Both teams had half-chances to snatch a winner in a frantic finale, but neither could find the decisive touch. The point is a modest return for Shinnik, who will view this as a missed opportunity to gain ground on the teams above them.
