Fraserburgh maintained their impressive early-season form in the Scottish Highland Football League with a convincing 2-0 victory over Forres Mechanics at Mosset Park. The away side were clinical on the day, scoring once in each half, while Forres struggled to create meaningful chances against a well-organised Fraserburgh defence.

Broch strike before the break

Fraserburgh started brightly and controlled possession in the opening stages without carving out clear-cut opportunities. Forres, playing on home turf, were happy to sit deep and look for quick transitions, but the visitors' pressing game ensured they rarely had a clear sight of goal. The deadlock was broken ten minutes before half-time when a corner was worked short before being whipped into the box, where a Fraserburgh defender rose highest to head home.

The goal gave the away side a platform to build on, and they nearly doubled their lead before the interval, only to be denied by a sharp save from the Forres goalkeeper.

Second goal kills the contest

Forres showed greater attacking intent after the break, but their efforts were largely limited to long-range shots that failed to trouble the Fraserburgh keeper. It was the visitors who struck decisively on the hour mark, finishing off a fast counter-attack with a composed finish into the bottom corner to make it 2-0.

The remainder of the match was largely controlled by Fraserburgh, who comfortably saw out the game to claim another important three points. The result keeps them firmly in the title mix early in the campaign, while Forres Mechanics will need to be more clinical if they are to climb up the table.
