Paysandu SC 1-2 Inter de Limeira | Brazilian Série C
Limeira Stuns Curuzu with Comeback Victory
Inter de Limeira produced a gutsy second-half performance to defeat Paysandu 2-1 at the Estádio da Curuzu in Belém on June 15, 2026. The result was a significant boost for Limeira’s promotion ambitions, while Paysandu missed a chance to strengthen their own position in the Série C top half.
The hosts started strongly, buoyed by a passionate home crowd. Their early pressure paid off in the 12th minute when winger Matheus Silva cut inside and fired a low shot into the far corner. Paysandu continued to dominate but failed to convert further chances, with Limeira’s goalkeeper Felipe Alves making two important saves.
After the break, Inter de Limeira reorganised and began to find their rhythm. They equalised in the 58th minute through a well-taken header by centre-back Lucas Rocha from a corner. The turnaround was complete in the 73rd minute when substitute Gabriel Taliari latched onto a through ball and slotted past the advancing keeper. Paysandu pushed for an equaliser but were denied by resolute defending.
Table Implications
The win lifts Inter de Limeira into third place in Group B, firmly in the promotion zone. Paysandu drop to sixth, but remain only two points outside the qualification places. The result shows the competitiveness of Série C, where away wins are hard-earned and valuable.
