Raja Club Athletic Held to 1-1 Draw by UTS Union Touarga Sport Rabat
Match Date: June 14, 2026 | League: The Botola Pro
Raja Club Athletic missed a chance to close the gap on the Botola Pro leaders after being held to a 1-1 draw by a stubborn UTS Union Touarga Sport Rabat side at the Stade Mohammed V. Raja dominated large spells but were unable to find a winner after equalising just before half-time.
The visitors took a shock lead in the 19th minute through a set-piece. Defender Yassine Jebbor rose highest to meet a corner and powered a header into the net, leaving Raja goalkeeper Anas Zniti rooted to his line. UTS Touarga then dropped into a deep defensive block, inviting Raja to break them down.
Raja responded with sustained pressure. Winger Mohamed Nahiri came closest with a curling effort that struck the crossbar in the 37th minute. The equaliser finally arrived in first-half stoppage time: a quick one-two on the edge of the box between Zakaria Labib and Hicham Benichou released Labib, who slotted under the onrushing goalkeeper Mouad Habbouch.
In the second half, Raja pushed for a winner but met a disciplined UTS defence. Substitute deep-lying playmaker Ahmed Rahmani flashed a shot just wide in the 83rd minute, and a late penalty shout for a handball was waved away. UTS Touarga nearly snatched a late winner on the counter, but Zniti saved well from Adil El Karrou.
The draw left Raja in third place with 43 points, three behind leaders AS FAR Rabat. UTS Touarga moved to 22 points, further distancing themselves from the relegation zone. Raja will lament the two points dropped as the title race intensifies.
