Player Info
Samuel Kalu is a Nigerian winger currently plying his trade for Bulgarian First League side Botev Plovdiv. A pacey and direct forward, Kalu has carved out a solid professional career across Europe, known for his ability to beat defenders and deliver dangerous crosses from the right flank. His journey began in Nigeria before he moved to Europe, initially joining Belgian club KAA Gent in 2016. It was at Gent where he truly announced himself, becoming a key attacking outlet with his electrifying speed and contributing crucial goals and assists. His performances earned him a move to the French Ligue 1 with FC Girondins de Bordeaux in 2018, where he spent several seasons competing at a high level against some of the continent's best defenders. After a stint with Watford in England, he found a new home at Botev Plovdiv. His main honors include winning the Belgian Cup with Gent in the 2016-17 season. Known for his explosive acceleration and dribbling, Kalu remains a respected figure in African football, using his experience to lead Botev's attack and inspire younger players in the Bulgarian top flight.
