Player Info

Matti Steinmann is a robust and tactically astute German midfielder serving as a key figure for SV Drochtersen/Assel in the Regionalliga Nord. The 31-year-old, standing 189 cm tall, operates primarily as a central midfielder but is equally adept in a deeper defensive role, providing a vital shield for the backline. Steinmann's career path took him from the youth setup at Hamburger SV to gaining first-team experience abroad with FC St. Gallen in Switzerland. He returned to Germany to make his mark in the 2. Bundesliga with FC St. Pauli, where his combative style and passing range made him a fan favourite. Later spells at Hannover 96 and in Denmark with Vejle BK further honed his experience. His move to Drochtersen/Assel brought leadership to a ambitious regional side. Though team silverware has been limited, his career is defined by over 100 professional appearances across multiple countries. Steinmann is a classic box-to-box midfielder whose physicality and game intelligence make him a dominant force in the middle of the park.
