Player Info

Giannis Kargas is a commanding Greek central defender for Super League club Volos NPS. The 31-year-old, standing at an imposing 188cm, is a pillar of strength in the heart of defense. His career began at the youth level of Olympiacos before he sought first-team football elsewhere, with notable spells at Platanias and OFI Crete. It was at these clubs that he developed into a no-nonsense defender, renowned for his aerial dominance in both boxes and tough tackling. A key highlight was scoring a last-minute winning header from a corner in a crucial relegation six-pointer. His consistent performances earned him a move to Volos, where he has become a defensive leader. While major trophies have not yet come his way, he has been instrumental in helping his teams secure their top-flight status season after season. Kargas embodies the classic Greek defender: physically robust, strong in the challenge, and a natural leader on the pitch.
