Player Info
Gelson Martins is a Portuguese winger known for his explosive pace and direct dribbling, currently plying his trade with Greek giants Olympiacos Piraeus. His career took off at Sporting CP, where his blistering speed and trickery on the right wing made him a standout talent, helping the club win the 2015 Portuguese Cup. A contract dispute led him to join Atlético Madrid in 2018, and he later had spells at Monaco and Olympiacos, where he has added Greek Super League titles to his resume. While at Sporting, he was part of the team that won the 2018 Taça da Liga. Individually, he was named the Portuguese League's Best Young Player in 2016 and has earned several caps for the Portuguese national team, being part of their squad for major tournaments. His playing style is defined by his incredible acceleration and ability to beat defenders in one-on-one situations, making him a constant threat on the flank, even if end product has sometimes been inconsistent.
