Player Info
Alejandro "Papu" Gómez is an Argentine attacking midfielder and winger whose creativity and dribbling have made him a star in European football. Currently with Padova in Italy's Serie C, the 38-year-old playmaker is best known for his glorious spell with Atalanta in Serie A. Standing just 165cm, Gómez's low centre of gravity and technical brilliance made him a nightmare for defenders. He began in Argentina with Arsenal de Sarandí and San Lorenzo, winning the Copa Libertadores with the latter in 2014. His move to Europe saw him become a legend at Atalanta, where he captained the side to unprecedented UEFA Champions League qualifications and a Coppa Italia final, earning Serie A MVP honors in 2020. After a stint with Sevilla, where he won the Europa League, he returned to Italy. Papu's main honors include the Copa Libertadores, Europa League, and individual Serie A MVP. Known for his flair, vision, and leadership, he remains a gifted playmaker even in the latter stages of his career.
