Sportivo Trinidense Stun Sportivo Ameliano with 3-0 Away Victory in Paraguayan Primera

Club Sportivo Trinidense delivered one of the most convincing away performances of the Paraguayan Primera Division weekend, thrashing Sportivo Ameliano 3-0 on 3 September 2026. The result provides a massive boost for Trinidense while leaving Ameliano with plenty to ponder in the early stages of the season.

Match Overview

From the opening minutes, Trinidense looked sharper and more organised. They pressed with intensity, won the majority of second balls, and created chances through rapid transitions. Ameliano struggled to cope with the tempo and found themselves chasing the game after falling behind in the first half.

Key Moments

• Trinidense open the scoring: An incisive move down the right wing ended with a low cross turned in from close range, giving the visitors a deserved lead.
• Second before half-time: A defensive error from Ameliano allowed Trinidense’s striker to intercept a loose back pass, round the keeper, and double the advantage.
• Third seals the rout: With Ameliano pushing forward for a consolation goal in the second half, Trinidense struck decisively on the counter, finishing coolly from a one-on-one to cap off an excellent evening.

Tactical Story

Trinidense’s game plan was clear: absorb pressure, stay compact, and break quickly. Their defensive shape left Ameliano frustrated in central areas, while the wide attackers repeatedly found space in behind the home full-backs. The midfield battle was particularly one-sided, with Trinidense dominating possession in the key areas of the pitch and cutting off passing lanes with great discipline.

Standout Players

The Trinidense forward line deserves special mention for its relentless energy. The central striker was involved in all three goals, while the wingers caused constant problems for the Ameliano defence. At the other end, the visiting goalkeeper made a couple of important saves to preserve the clean sheet, proving every bit as vital as the goalscorers.

Season and Table Impact

This away win could be a significant confidence builder for Sportivo Trinidense as they look to climb the Paraguayan Primera Division standings. For Sportivo Ameliano, the defeat shows there is urgent work to be done, especially in defence. With this result, Trinidense have sent a message that they can compete against any side in the league.
