Kongsvinger 5–1 Sogndal
Norwegian 1. Divisjon | July 4, 2026
Kongsvinger produced a stunning attacking display to thrash Sogndal 5-1 on home soil at Gjemselund Stadion. The emphatic result sends a clear statement to the rest of the 1. Divisjon as Kongsvinger continue their climb towards the top of the standings.
The home side exploded out of the blocks, with Martin Vinjor opening the scoring inside the first two minutes with a clinical finish after a defensive mix-up. They doubled their lead in the 18th minute when Ivar Rønningen tapped in from close range.
Sogndal briefly pulled one back through Kjetil Myhre in the 32nd minute, but that was as good as it got for the visitors. Kongsvinger replied almost immediately as Lars Brotangen restored the two-goal advantage with a well-taken volley.
The second half was a one-sided affair. Kongsvinger added a fourth through Vetle Helland in the 55th minute, and substitute Sander Haugen completed the rout with a fine individual effort in the 78th minute, rounding the keeper before slotting home.
The 5-1 victory marks Kongsvinger’s biggest win of the season and lifts them into the promotion playoff places. For Sogndal, the heavy defeat is a setback after a promising recent run.
