Naestved, Denmark – May 25, 2026 – Naestved HG Women and Esbjerg W fought out an entertaining 2-2 draw at the Naestved Stadion in the Danish Women's Division 1. The result leaves both sides in mid-table as the season enters its final stretch, with each team taking away a point from a hard-fought contest.
The home side started brightly and took the lead in the 18th minute when forward Mette Jensen slotted home after a fine through ball from midfield. However, Esbjerg responded quickly. Just before the half-hour mark, winger Line Sørensen cut inside and fired a low shot past the Naestved goalkeeper to level the match at 1-1.
Naestved regained the advantage early in the second half through a well-worked set piece. Defender Karen Møller rose highest to head in a corner in the 52nd minute. The lead lasted only seven minutes, as Esbjerg’s Josefine Thomsen pounced on a defensive error to make it 2-2.
Both teams pushed for a winner in the final 20 minutes but were denied by solid goalkeeping and last-ditch defending.
