Kreuzlingen 0–4 Grasshopper | International Club Friendly | 27 June 2026
Grasshopper Club Zurich delivered a dominant display as they thrashed local Swiss side Kreuzlingen 4–0 in an International Club Friendly on 27 June 2026. The match, played at Kreuzlingen’s Sportplatz Hafenareal, was a one-sided affair from the opening whistle.
Grasshopper, a historic Swiss Super League club, took control immediately. They opened the scoring in the 12th minute when striker Shkelqim Demhasaj turned in a low cross from the right. The visitors doubled their lead just before the half-hour mark, as midfielder Christian Herc fired a powerful shot from outside the box that sailed into the top corner.
The second half saw no let-up from Grasshopper. They added a third goal in the 58th minute through a well-worked set-piece, with centre-back Lirik Voca heading home from a corner. The rout was completed in the 79th minute when substitute Filipe de Carvalho raced through on goal and slotted past the helpless Kreuzlingen goalkeeper.
Kreuzlingen, a fourth-tier side from the Swiss regional leagues, were outclassed but showed fighting spirit, particularly in the final 15 minutes when they forced a couple of saves from Grasshopper’s reserve goalkeeper. The friendly served as valuable preparation for Grasshopper ahead of their league season, while Kreuzlingen can take lessons from facing higher-level opposition. Grasshopper’s attacking efficiency and defensive solidity were the key takeaways from a convincing 4–0 win.
