Sileks Edged by FC Dinamo City in Preseason Thriller
A closely fought International Club Friendly on June 23 saw FC Dinamo City claim a 2-1 victory over Sileks in a match that offered plenty of entertainment. The contest, played at a neutral venue, saw both sides create numerous chances, but it was the visitors who proved more clinical in front of goal.
Sileks started brightly and took the lead in the 18th minute when their left-winger cut inside from the flank and unleashed a low drive into the far corner. The home side seemed in control, but FC Dinamo City gradually grew into the game. Their equaliser came just before half-time, a well-worked set-piece that saw the centre-back power home a header from a corner.
The second half was a more open affair, with both teams pushing for a winner. FC Dinamo City's attacking pressure paid off in the 67th minute. A quick counter-attack caught the Sileks defence out of position, and the Dinamo City forward slotted the ball calmly past the onrushing goalkeeper.
Sileks pressed hard for an equaliser in the final 20 minutes, hitting the crossbar through a long-range effort and forcing a sharp save from the Dinamo City goalkeeper. However, the visitors held firm to secure a morale-boosting win in their preseason preparations.
Key Moment: Dinamo City's second goal, a perfectly timed through ball that split the Sileks defence, proved to be the difference.
