F91 Dudelange Edges US Rumelange 2-1 in Pre-Season Friendly
The 2026 pre-season campaign got off to a winning start for Luxembourg's top-flight side F91 Dudelange, as they secured a 2-1 victory over regional rivals US Rumelange on 4 July. Played under the floodlights at the Stade Jos Nosbaum, the match served as an early fitness test for both squads ahead of their respective league campaigns.
F91 Dudelange dominated the early exchanges. Their high pressing forced an error from the Rumelange defence in the 23rd minute, allowing forward Edvin Muratović to slot home from close range. The home side doubled their lead just before the hour mark when a well-worked corner found the head of centre-back Kilian Ransquin, who powered the ball past the visiting goalkeeper.
US Rumelange did not capitulate. They pulled one back in the 78th minute through substitute Yannick Bouché, who capitalised on a rare defensive lapse to fire low into the bottom corner. Despite a late rally, the visitors were unable to find an equaliser, with Dudelange goalkeeper Ronan Le Crom making a sharp save in stoppage time.
F91 coach Carlos da Cruz praised his team's intensity in the first hour but admitted there is work to do on defensive shape. The result provides a morale boost as Dudelange continue their pre-season schedule, while Rumelange will take positives from their second-half showing.
