Cobham 1–3 Farnborough Town
International Club Friendly – July 4, 2026
Farnborough Town came from behind to defeat Cobham 3–1 in a lively friendly that showcased the Southern League side’s quality in attack. The match, played at Cobham’s ground, was a key preseason tune-up for both clubs as they prepare for their respective campaigns.
Cobham started brightly and took a fourth-minute lead through a well-worked corner. Midfielder Jack Curtis rose highest to power a header into the net, giving the hosts an early advantage. Farnborough responded well, pressing high and creating several half-chances before the equalizer arrived in the 22nd minute. Striker Tom Whelan latched onto a through ball and slotted calmly past the Cobham keeper.
The second half belonged entirely to Farnborough. Manager Spencer Day’s side controlled possession and broke the deadlock just before the hour mark when winger Reece Yorke curled a free-kick over the wall and into the top corner. Cobham pushed for an equalizer but were caught on the counter in the 78th minute, with substitute Dan Stuttle finishing a rapid move to make it 3–1.
The final scoreline flattered Farnborough, but Cobham will take heart from an encouraging first-half performance. For Farnborough, the result builds momentum as they look to mount a challenge in the Southern League Premier Division South this season.
