Ararat-Armenia and Vojvodina Novi Sad Share Entertaining 1-1 Draw
Ararat-Armenia FC and FK Vojvodina Novi Sad played out a competitive 1-1 draw in a pre-season friendly at the Yerevan Football Academy Stadium on June 27, 2026. The match, part of the International Club Friendly series, provided both sides with a meaningful test ahead of their respective domestic campaigns.
The Armenian hosts took the lead in the 34th minute through a well-worked set piece. A short corner was swung into the box, and central defender Hovhannes Hambardzumyan rose highest to head past Vojvodina goalkeeper Nikola Simić. The goal capped a period of pressure from Ararat-Armenia, who had earlier seen a shot from midfielder Wbeymar Angulo saved.
Vojvodina responded well after the break, increasing their intensity in midfield. The equaliser came in the 67th minute when substitute forward Petar Vukčević latched onto a through ball and slotted calmly under the advancing goalkeeper. The Serbian outfit pushed for a winner, but Ararat's defence held firm, with a late goal-line clearance preserving the draw.
Both managers were satisfied with the workout. Ararat-Armenia's head coach highlighted the effectiveness of their set-piece routines, while Vojvodina's coach praised the team's second-half fightback. The result extends both clubs' unbeaten pre-season records as they fine-tune tactics for the upcoming seasons in the Armenian Premier League and Serbian SuperLiga respectively.
