AFC Totton 2 – 2 Sutton United
International Club Friendly – July 11, 2026
AFC Totton and Sutton United shared the spoils in an entertaining 2-2 draw at the Snows Stadium. The National League South side and the League Two visitors each had spells of dominance, but neither could find a winner in the final minutes.
Fast Start from Sutton
Sutton United took the lead inside ten minutes when Harry Beautyman fired home from the edge of the box. The U’s continued to press and doubled their advantage through a well-worked set-piece, with defender Joe Kizzi heading in from a corner.
AFC Totton, playing two divisions below Sutton, struggled to find rhythm early on but grew into the contest as the first half wore on. A tactical tweak from manager Dan Sackman brought more width, and just before the interval, winger Ben Seymour pulled one back with a low drive under the goalkeeper.
Second-Half Battle
The home side came out with renewed energy after the break. Totton’s midfield pressed higher, forcing mistakes. The equaliser arrived in the 65th minute when striker Ethan Taylor latched onto a through ball and slotted past the onrushing Sutton keeper.
Both teams had chances to snatch victory. Sutton substitute Josh Coley hit the post, while Totton’s Taylor saw a header cleared off the line. In the end, a draw was a fair reflection of an open and competitive friendly.
What It Means

- For Sutton United: Valuable game time for squad players, but defensive lapses will need addressing.
The match served as ideal preparation for both clubs as they build towards the start of their respective league seasons.
