Match Info

Assam and Nagaland played out an entertaining 3-3 draw in a high-scoring Indian Santosh Trophy group stage thriller on January 23, 2026. The six-goal spectacle showcased end-to-end football, with both teams surrendering the lead in a match full of drama. Nagaland shocked the home crowd by taking an early two-goal lead, but Assam mounted a stunning comeback to lead 3-2 by the hour mark. Just when it seemed Assam would hold on, Nagaland found a late, dramatic equalizer in the final minutes to snatch a point. The result, while exciting for neutrals, did little to help either team's qualification chances, leaving both needing results elsewhere to progress.
