PAOK Saloniki secured a statement 2-0 away victory over rivals Olympiacos Piraeus in the Greek Cup on January 15, 2026. The win at the Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium sends PAOK into the next round at the expense of their historic rivals. PAOK started the match with intensity and took a shock lead in the first half, silencing the home crowd. They doubled their advantage early in the second period with a clinical counter-attack, putting the tie firmly in their control. Olympiacos, despite having more of the ball, struggled to break down a disciplined and physically imposing PAOK defense. The home team's frustrations grew as the match wore on, with several players receiving yellow cards. This result is a significant blow to Olympiacos's hopes of a domestic double and a massive boost for PAOK's own trophy aspirations. The PAOK manager praised his team's tactical discipline and fighting spirit, while the Olympiacos coach was critical of his side's lack of urgency and creativity in a high-stakes derby.
