International Club Friendly – 25 July 2026
Goal‑Filled Encounter in Fleury
Fleury 91 Women outlasted RC Roubaix Wervicq in an eight‑goal thriller at the Stade Auguste Gentelet, emerging 5–3 winners in a pre‑season friendly that offered plenty of entertainment. The Division 1 Féminine side showed their attacking depth, while the visitors from the second tier demonstrated commendable grit.
Match Flow
The home side raced into a 3–0 lead inside the first 25 minutes. Striker Rosemonde Kouassi opened the scoring in the 8th minute with a powerful header, followed by a close‑range finish from Naomi Beutel in the 15th minute. Laura Blouin added a third from the penalty spot after a handball in the box. Roubaix Wervicq pulled one back before half‑time through a well‑taken shot by Chloé Lefèvre, making it 3–1 at the break.
Fleury extended their lead early in the second half when Kadidiatou Maïga smashed in a loose ball from a corner. The visitors refused to fold, scoring twice in quick succession — Marie Duval and Camille Perrin both found the net — to reduce the deficit to 4–3 with 15 minutes remaining. However, Fleury sealed the win in the 83rd minute when substitute Ruth Kipoyi tapped in from a cross.
Standout Performers
- Rosemonde Kouassi (Fleury): A constant menace with her pace and aerial ability, contributing a goal and an assist.
- Chloé Lefèvre (Roubaix): The midfielder orchestrated her team’s comeback attempts and scored a fine individual goal.
Lessons Learned
Fleury’s attacking fluidity bodes well for the upcoming D1 Féminine season, though defensive concentration in the latter stages remains a concern. Roubaix Wervicq, despite the loss, showed they can compete with higher‑level opposition and will take heart from their fighting spirit.
