Egersunds IK stunned Haugesund with a 5-2 victory in a high-scoring Norwegian 1. Divisjon encounter. The home side's attacking verve proved too much for a Haugesund defense that struggled to contain the pace and movement of Egersunds' front line.
First Half: Egersunds Race Ahead
Egersunds were 3-0 up within 25 minutes. Striker Mathias Bringaker opened the scoring in the 6th minute, latching onto a through ball and finishing coolly. Goalkeeper Haugesund then gifted a second when his poor clearance was volleyed in by Adrian Berg from 25 yards. Berg turned provider for the third, crossing for Magnus Retsius Grødem to head home. Haugesund pulled one back before the break through a penalty by Niklas Sandberg.
Second Half: No Comeback
Haugesund attempted to mount a fightback, but Egersunds struck again in the 52nd minute as winger Torbjørn Kallevåg converted a cross. Sandberg scored his second of the match for Haugesund in the 68th minute, but Egersunds finished the scoring nine minutes later when substitute Oliver Bergum drilled home from the edge of the box.
