The lead was doubled in the 24th minute as midfielder Ilya Morozov curled a free kick over the wall and into the top corner.
The third goal arrived just before half-time. A swift counter-attack saw Yakovlev turn provider, crossing for Andrei Sokolov to head home from close range. At 3–0, the home fans were already celebrating a comfortable victory.

Reduced to ten men, Kirov struggled to contain the visitors, who made it 3–2 in the 78th minute through a powerful header from Alan Tsarakhov from a corner.
Despite relentless pressure in the final ten minutes, Alania could not find an equaliser. Dynamo Kirov's goalkeeper Oleg Volkov made a brilliant save in stoppage time to secure the three points.
