A well-worked goal wins it

Lincoln made the brighter start and took the lead after 23 minutes. However, Lincoln’s defensive block held firm, and the visitors managed the game well in the closing stages, slowing the tempo and protecting their lead. The 1-0 scoreline reflected a game that was controlled, compact, and decided by one moment of quality in the attacking third.

Doncaster, meanwhile, showed encouraging signs in possession but will want better creativity when they face opponents who defend deep.
