Debreceni VSC U19 and Vasas U19 served up an entertaining 2-2 draw in the Hungary U19 A League on 5 September 2026. The two ambitious youth teams went head-to-head for a valuable share of the points, trading goals and chances in what became an open, competitive and fast-paced fixture.

A match of two halves

Debreceni VSC U19 made a bright start and looked to use their physical presence to unsettle Vasas. Their aggressive press forced errors in the Vasas defensive third, and the home side were rewarded with the opening goal after a solid spell of possession and pressure. The response from Vasas took a while to come, but they gradually got into the contest. A neat combination in attack brought the equaliser, and the score at the break reflected the balance of play.

The second half kicked off at the same intensity. Debreceni VSC U19 regained the lead with another incisive move, and for a while it seemed they had done enough to secure the win. Vasas, though, kept pushing forward in the closing stages. With time running out, they forced the ball over the line for a late equaliser and sent both sides away from the match with a point apiece.

Youth development focus

Beyond the result, the match provided useful experience for a host of young players on both sides. The Hungary U19 A League is an important part of the country’s player development pathway, and fixtures such as this one allow promising youngsters to be tested in competitive surroundings. The resilience shown by both teams, especially when facing deficits, was a positive feature of a draw that keeps both clubs in the mix for a strong league finish.

Debreceni will be slightly disappointed not to have protected their lead, but Vasas will be proud of their late comeback and the character shown across the full 90 minutes.
