Shijiazhuang Gongfu bounced back from a previous defeat to secure a solid 2-0 home win against Nanjing City in Chinese League One action on Sunday, May 25th, 2025. The victory at the Yutong International Sports Center provided a much-needed boost for Gongfu's campaign. Determined to make amends for their loss a week prior, Shijiazhuang started with high intensity and were rewarded with an opening goal from a penalty in the 28th minute after a handball in the box. They controlled much of the possession and doubled their lead in the 55th minute through a close-range finish following a goalmouth scramble. Nanjing City struggled to create significant chances against a well-organized Gongfu defense, which held firm to keep a clean sheet. The three points helped Shijiazhuang Gongfu climb the league table, while Nanjing City was left to contemplate a disappointing away performance.
