Catanzaro U19 2–0 Latina Calcio U20
Italian Campionato Primavera 2 · 5 September 2026

Catanzaro U19 made the most of home advantage with a measured, disciplined performance against Latina Calcio U20, securing a 2–0 victory in the Italian Campionato Primavera 2. The young Calabrian side controlled the tempo for long spells and produced the decisive moments when it mattered most in front of their own supporters.

Match overview

From the opening exchanges, Catanzaro U19 looked the more organised and aggressive team. Their pressing game disrupted Latina Calcio U20’s attempts to build from the back and created several early opportunities. The hosts were rewarded before the break when a well-worked attacking move ended with a composed finish to give Catanzaro a deserved lead.

Latina improved after the interval and enjoyed more possession, but Catanzaro’s defensive block stayed compact and limited the visitors to half-chances. The result was effectively sealed late on as Catanzaro added a second goal with a quick transition, turning defensive solidity into a clinical counter-attacking moment.

How Catanzaro took control

• High energy from the start: Catanzaro’s pressing forced mistakes high up the pitch and kept Latina pinned in their own half.
• Clinical edge: The hosts took their two clearest opportunities, showing maturity in front of goal under youth-level pressure.
• Compact defending: Latina were restricted to speculative efforts, and Catanzaro’s goalkeeper was rarely called into serious action.

What the result means

The victory gives Catanzaro U19 valuable momentum in the early stages of the Primavera 2 campaign. It also highlights the depth and tactical progress of their academy side, which will be looking to push toward the upper half of the standings this season.

For Latina Calcio U20, the defeat provides a clear lesson in taking chances and dealing with an organised opponent away from home. They will need to sharpen their attacking edge in the coming matchdays to collect the points required to move up the league table.

With attacking intent, defensive discipline and a clean sheet, Catanzaro U19 delivered exactly the kind of performance that can define a promising season.
