Brondby IF Women Edge Kolding BK in Thrilling 3-2 Home Victory

Brondby IF Women held their nerve to secure a dramatic 3-2 win over Kolding BK Women in the Danish Elitedivisionen on May 23, 2026. The match was a rollercoaster of emotions, with both sides trading blows in an entertaining contest under the lights.

Brondby started brightly and took the lead in the 12th minute when striker Emma Nielsen nodded home a cross from the right. Kolding responded well and equalised just before the half-hour mark through a powerful header of their own by defender Sara Mikkelsen. The score remained 1-1 at the break, setting the stage for a frantic second half.

Second Half Drama Unfolds

Kolding stunned the home crowd by taking the lead in the 52nd minute after a defensive mix-up allowed forward Line Jørgensen to tap into an empty net. Brondby, however, showed resilience and hit back immediately. Midfielder Sofie Andersen equalised with a curling free kick in the 59th minute, and the momentum swung back to the hosts.

The winning goal came in the 78th minute. A swift counter-attack saw substitute striker Maja Pedersen race through the Kolding defence and fire a low shot into the corner. Kolding pushed for a late equaliser but were denied by a superb save from Brondby goalkeeper Katrine Larsen in stoppage time.

The 3-2 victory kept Brondby IF Women firmly in the hunt for a top finish in the Elitedivisionen. Kolding BK Women, though disappointed, showed they can compete with the league's best and will look to bounce back in their next fixture.
