A slow burn ignites

The opening exchanges were cagey, with both sides wary of leaving gaps. Central SC, organized in a compact 4-4-2, frustrated América’s build-up play for the first 20 minutes. However, the deadlock was broken in the 34th minute when América’s livewire winger Felipe Saraiva cut inside from the left and unleashed a powerful strike that deflected off a defender and looped over the Central goalkeeper.
