Matchday Recap – Botola Pro
Renaissance de Berkane 0–0 Olympique de Safi
Thursday night at the Stade Municipal de Berkane produced a tightly contested goalless draw between Renaissance de Berkane and Olympique de Safi. Both sides struggled to find the final touch in a match that was heavy on midfield battles and defensive organisation.
The hosts, known for their compact 4-4-2 shape, had the better of the early exchanges. Winger Youssef Zghoudi fired a dipping shot from 25 yards that forced a sharp save from Olympique de Safi goalkeeper Ayoub El Khallati in the 12th minute. Berkane continued to press but lacked precision in the final third, with striker Hamza El Moussaoui heading wide from a corner just before the half-hour mark.
Olympique de Safi grew into the game after the interval. Their counter‑attacking threat was led by Mohamed Nahiri, who twice broke free down the left flank but saw his crosses cleared by the Berkane centre‑backs. The visitors' best chance came in the 74th minute when substitute Abdellatif Akhrif chested down a long ball and volleyed narrowly over the crossbar.
Despite late pressure from both sides, the deadlock remained. The point leaves Renaissance de Berkane in fifth place in the Botola Pro standings, while Olympique de Safi climb one spot to ninth. Neither manager will be entirely satisfied, but the defensive discipline on display was commendable.
