Azure produced a ruthless display to thrash Xorazm FA 4-0 in the Uzbek First Division B on Friday evening, extending their unbeaten run and sending a clear message to their promotion rivals. The home side were in complete control from start to finish, scoring twice in each half to secure a comprehensive victory.

Match Overview

Azure came into the match in confident mood, having lost just once in their previous eight league outings. Xorazm FA, by contrast, were looking to arrest a slump that had seen them slide down the table. The visitors set up defensively, hoping to frustrate Azure and hit on the break, but they were undone by an early goal that forced them to abandon their cautious approach. Azure's 4-3-3 formation, with high pressing and quick transitions, proved too much for Xorazm to handle.

Key Moments

• 9' – Azure open the scoring: A high press forced a turnover in Xorazm's half, and the ball was squared for a simple tap-in.
• 27' – Azure double the lead: A brilliant solo run from the right winger ended with a powerful shot into the roof of the net.
• 54' – Third goal: A well-worked corner routine saw the ball delivered to the back post, where a towering header made it 3-0.
• 72' – Fourth goal: A counter-attack finished with a calm finish into the bottom corner, capping a dominant performance.

Tactical Story

Azure's high press was the defining feature of the match. They suffocated Xorazm's midfield, forcing errors and winning the ball back in dangerous areas. The hosts also dominated set-pieces, with their third goal coming from a corner. Xorazm, meanwhile, offered little going forward and were guilty of giving the ball away cheaply. Their defence, which had been breached 18 times in 10 games before this match, struggled to cope with Azure's movement and pace. The result was a statement of intent from Azure, who look like genuine promotion contenders.

Standout Players

Azure's Jasur Rakhimov was the architect of the victory, scoring one goal and providing two assists from midfield. His vision and passing range were a constant source of problems for Xorazm. Up front, Sardor Ismoilov was a handful all evening, scoring twice and holding up the ball effectively. For Xorazm, goalkeeper Aziz Karimov made several saves to prevent an even heavier defeat, but he was left exposed by his defence.

Season Impact

The win lifts Azure to second place in the UZB D1B standings, level on points with the leaders but with a superior goal difference. Xorazm FA remain in 12th place, just three points above the relegation zone. With this result, Azure have now scored 14 goals in their last five matches, and their attacking firepower makes them a team to watch in the coming weeks. For Xorazm, the challenge is to regroup quickly and avoid being dragged into a relegation battle.

What's Next

Azure will look to continue their momentum when they travel to face third-placed Buxoro next Saturday. Xorazm FA host Andijon in a crucial relegation six-pointer, knowing that another defeat could leave them in serious trouble.
