MC Oran 2-0 CR Temouchent: Clinical Home Display Delivers Ligue 1 Victory

MC Oran secured a 2-0 win over CR Temouchent in the Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 1 on September 12, 2026, using a disciplined defensive performance and two well-taken goals to claim all three points at Stade Ahmed Zabana. The home side controlled the rhythm of the contest, absorbed Temouchent's pressure, and struck at key moments to move up the early-season standings.

Match Overview

MC Oran started with intensity, pressing CR Temouchent high and forcing early turnovers. The visitors tried to establish possession in midfield, but Oran's compact 4-4-2 structure made central progress difficult. The first clear chance came from a set piece, and from there the hosts grew in confidence. Temouchent responded with a few crosses into the box, but Oran's center-backs dealt with the danger comfortably.

The opening goal arrived before half-time, giving MC Oran a platform to manage the second period. Rather than sitting deep, the hosts continued to press and look for a second. CR Temouchent pushed more players forward after the break, but that only created space for Oran to counter. The second goal came from exactly that scenario, sealing a professional home win.

Key Moments

• 38th minute — MC Oran 1-0: A driving run through midfield drew defenders, and a precise low finish from the edge of the box beat the Temouchent goalkeeper.
• 63rd minute — MC Oran 1-0: CR Temouchent's best chance arrived from a corner, but a goal-line clearance preserved Oran's lead.
• 77th minute — MC Oran 2-0: Oran won the ball in midfield and broke quickly, finishing a counterattack with a calm strike into the bottom corner.

Tactical Story

MC Oran's success was built on balance. The midfield protected the back four, the full-backs chose their moments to advance, and the front pair worked hard to close down Temouchent's first pass. That pressure forced the visitors into long balls, which Oran's defenders headed clear with regularity. In possession, Oran mixed short passing with direct balls into the channels, keeping Temouchent's defense unsure whether to step up or drop back.

CR Temouchent improved after half-time and enjoyed a spell of territorial pressure, but they struggled to create high-quality chances. Their crosses were often hurried, and when they did find a sight of goal, Oran's goalkeeper was well positioned. The second goal punished their ambition and highlighted the difference in cutting edge.

Standout Players

MC Oran's captain led by example in midfield, breaking up attacks and starting the move that led to the opening goal. The center-forward was a constant outlet, holding the ball up and bringing others into play. The goalkeeper also deserved credit for a clean sheet, making a crucial save at 1-0. For CR Temouchent, the left winger was their most dangerous player, repeatedly trying to run at the defense, while the central defender made several important interceptions.

Table Impact

The three points lift MC Oran's confidence and strengthen their position in the Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 1 table. A home clean sheet is especially valuable in a league where away fixtures are notoriously difficult. CR Temouchent leave with no points but will take note of their second-half improvement; converting pressure into goals will be the priority in their next outing.
