A.C. Ospitaletto and Renate AC shared the spoils in Italian Serie C on Sunday, October 4, 2026, playing out a 1-1 draw that reflected both sides' willingness to attack but also their inability to find a decisive second goal.

Match Overview

Renate AC started the brighter of the two teams and took the lead in the 33rd minute through Matteo Galli, who finished calmly after a quick passing move opened up the Ospitaletto defence. The away side looked organised and compact, but Ospitaletto grew into the game before the break and began to find space on the flanks.

The equaliser arrived in the 68th minute when Simone Ferrari met a deep cross at the back post and guided the ball back across goal and into the net. Ospitaletto pushed for a winner in the closing stages, but Renate's goalkeeper produced a strong save in the 84th minute to preserve a point for his side.

Key Moments

• 33' — Renate AC 1-0: Matteo Galli exchanges passes on the edge of the box before slotting a low finish past the goalkeeper.
• 68' — A.C. Ospitaletto 1-1: Simone Ferrari arrives at the back post to convert a cross and level the score.

Tactical Story

Renate AC lined up with a disciplined 4-2-3-1, looking to absorb pressure and strike on the counter. Their midfield screen worked well for much of the first hour, but as Ospitaletto increased the tempo, gaps began to appear between the lines. Ospitaletto used a 4-3-3 and focused their attacks down the right, where they consistently created overloads.

The home side dominated possession in the second half but lacked a cutting edge until Ferrari's well-taken equaliser. Renate defended deeper after the goal and relied on quick breaks, but neither team could find the quality needed to claim all three points.

Standout Players

Simone Ferrari was Ospitaletto's most dangerous player, capping a lively performance with the equalising goal. Matteo Galli was sharp for Renate, taking his chance well and linking play intelligently. Renate's goalkeeper also deserves credit for a late save that secured the draw.

Table and Season Impact

The point keeps Renate AC in the hunt for a playoff place, though they will feel they could have held on for a win. A.C. Ospitaletto extend their unbeaten run and will take encouragement from a second-half performance that showed character. In the Serie C standings, both clubs remain within touching distance of the teams above them, making every point valuable as the season progresses.
