Team Info

The Valcea basketball team competes in Romania's top professional division, the Liga Națională de Baschet Masculin. Representing the city of Râmnicu Vâlcea, the team plays its home games at the Sala Sporturilor Râmnicu Vâlcea. Founded in the latter half of the 20th century, the club's colors are typically blue and white. The team's history is rooted in the development of basketball in the Vâlcea region, with the name simply representing its home county. While not traditionally one of the perennial powerhouses of Romanian basketball, Valcea has had periods of competitiveness, often fighting to secure playoff berths and establish itself in the upper half of the league table. The modern era sees the team building around a mix of local talent and strategic imports, aiming to climb the standings each season. The fan base, though not massive, is passionate and provides strong support at home games, creating an intimidating atmosphere for visiting teams. Valcea remains a proud representative of its region in the national basketball landscape.
