Team Info
The Connecticut Sun are a premier franchise in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA), based in Uncasville, Connecticut. They play their home games at the Mohegan Sun Arena, one of the league's most distinctive venues located within a casino resort. Founded originally as the Orlando Miracle in 1999, the team relocated to Connecticut in 2003 and became the Sun. The franchise's peak era saw them reach the WNBA Finals in 2004 and 2005, led by legends like Lindsay Whalen and Taj McWilliams-Franklin. In the modern era, the Sun have re-established themselves as a championship contender, consistently at the top of the Eastern Conference with a core featuring MVP Jonquel Jones, DeWanna Bonner, and Alyssa Thomas. They are known for a physical, defensive-minded identity and a relentless work ethic. The "Solar Patrol" fan base is deeply loyal, creating a formidable home-court advantage. The Connecticut Sun are a model of consistency and championship aspiration in the WNBA.
