Aleksej Petrovich Kurcevich is a veteran Russian center who provides a massive presence in the paint for BC Novosibirsk. At 36 years old, standing 210 cm tall and weighing 103 kg, the number 22 jersey wearer is a classic back-to-the-basket big man with years of experience. His professional career spans nearly two decades, beginning with his debut for a Russian Superleague team in the late 2000s. Kurcevich has played for several top clubs in Russia and Eastern Europe, known for his shot-blocking, rebounding, and efficient scoring around the rim. Career highlights include multiple seasons averaging a double-double and being named to the league's All-Defensive Team. His main honors feature domestic league championships won earlier in his career with powerhouse clubs. Nicknamed "The Wall" for his imposing defensive presence, he is also respected for his mentorship of younger players. In the modern era, Kurcevich remains a reliable defensive anchor and a leader in the locker room, using his wisdom and size to control the game's tempo in the half-court.
