Fred Vanvleet
Houston Rockets/PG/
Player Info
Fred VanVleet is an All-Star point guard for the Houston Rockets and one of the greatest undrafted success stories in NBA history. The 6-foot guard from Wichita State University went undrafted in 2016 but signed with the Toronto Raptors, where he would become a franchise icon. VanVleet was instrumental in the Raptors' 2019 NBA Championship run, delivering clutch performances off the bench. He later earned an All-Star selection in 2022 and set the record for the largest contract ever given to an undrafted player. Known by the nickname "Steady Freddy," he is a leader, a clutch shooter, and a tenacious defender despite his size. After a stellar tenure in Toronto, VanVleet now brings his championship pedigree and savvy playmaking to Houston as a cornerstone of their rebuild.
