Match Info

The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) basketball tournament saw the Nebraska Cornhuskers dominate Troy University with a decisive 76-47 victory in a first-round game that tipped off on March 20, 2026. This lopsided result sent Nebraska comfortably into the next round of the tournament, showcasing their defensive intensity and balanced scoring attack from the opening tip. The game was effectively decided in the first half as Nebraska established a commanding lead, holding Troy to a low shooting percentage and forcing numerous turnovers that led to easy transition baskets. Key moments included a series of three-pointers from Nebraska's backcourt that stretched the lead beyond twenty points before halftime, and a strong defensive stand in the second half that prevented any possibility of a Trojan comeback. Standout performances came from Nebraska's interior players, who controlled the rebounding battle, and their point guard, who orchestrated the offense with precision. The result solidified Nebraska's position as a formidable contender in their region of the bracket, while Troy's season concluded with the defeat. Post-match, the Nebraska coach praised his team's focus and defensive execution, while the Troy coach acknowledged the superior physicality and pace of their opponent. The starting lineups featured Nebraska's typical five, who set the tone early, against a Troy squad that struggled to find offensive rhythm throughout the contest.
