The opening period set the tone. Falco scored 26 points in ten minutes, repeatedly finding gaps in Fot's pick-and-roll coverage and converting from the perimeter. By the end of the first quarter the lead was already ten, and although the second period was more even, the hosts entered the break comfortably ahead.

Key Moments

The decisive stretch came immediately after half-time. Leading 48-37, Falco opened the third quarter with a quick burst that pushed the margin beyond twenty, effectively ending the game as a contest. Fot's timeout did little to stem the flow, as the home side continued to move the ball sharply and punish every defensive rotation error.

Fot's best spell came late in the first half, when a run of three consecutive baskets briefly suggested a comeback. Falco answered with a composed possession and a three-pointer, then closed the half with a defensive stop — a sequence that summed up the difference in execution between the two sides.

Tactical Story

Falco's advantage was built on balance. They attacked inside and out, moved the ball through multiple passes, and got contributions from the bench without any drop in quality. Defensively, they disrupted Fot's rhythm by switching aggressively on screens and contesting the perimeter, forcing the visitors into long, contested two-point attempts.

PHOENIX-MT Fot struggled to establish any consistent inside presence, and when their outside shot abandoned them in the third quarter, the offence stalled. Turnovers in transition handed Falco easy points, and on the rare occasions Fot broke the press, they could not convert efficiently enough to make the pressure count.

Standout Performances

Falco's scoring was spread across the roster, with the backcourt controlling tempo and the frontcourt dominating the paint and the defensive glass. Their bench energy in the second and fourth quarters kept the intensity high even with the result secure.

For Fot, the night was a difficult one, but there were individual bright spots — competitive rebounding and a willingness to keep attacking the rim even when the deficit grew. The visitors will need to be sharper on both ends if they are to take points from Hungary's stronger sides.

Season Impact

For Falco KC-Szombathely, this is exactly the kind of home performance that builds a title challenge: a large margin, a strong defensive number, and minutes distributed across the squad. In the Nemzeti Bajnokság I/A standings, home wins by nineteen points are worth more than two points — they send a message to the rest of the league. Fot, meanwhile, leave Szombathely with lessons to apply quickly in their next fixture.
