Trepca delivered a ruthless home performance in the Superliga, overwhelming Vellaznimi 94-68 in a game that was effectively decided before half-time. The Mitrovica side controlled every facet of the contest, combining suffocating defence with fluid attacking basketball to record one of their most emphatic wins of the season.

Match Overview

Trepca set the tone immediately, opening the game with a 12-2 run and never allowing Vellaznimi to settle. The visitors struggled badly with their shot selection in the first quarter, and the hosts capitalised with repeated fast-break baskets that turned defence into instant offence.

By half-time the lead stood at 17 points, and the second half was largely a matter of game management. Trepca's bench saw extended minutes in the fourth quarter, and even then the margin continued to grow rather than shrink.

Quarter-by-Quarter Scoring

• Q1: Trepca 27-14 Vellaznimi
• Q2: Trepca 22-18 Vellaznimi (49-32 half-time)
• Q3: Trepca 25-17 Vellaznimi (74-49)
• Q4: Trepca 20-19 Vellaznimi (94-68 final)

Key Moments

The first quarter was the story of the game. Trepca's defensive pressure forced turnover after turnover, and their transition attack was clinical. By the time Vellaznimi called their second timeout, the pattern had already been established — the visitors simply could not generate clean looks against a defence that was switching everything and closing out with urgency.

A brief third-quarter rally from Vellaznimi, cutting the gap to 18, was answered immediately with a 9-0 Trepca run. That sequence removed any lingering doubt about the outcome.

Tactical Story

Trepca's dominance was rooted in defensive disruption. They pressed selectively in the backcourt, trapped on the wings and rotated with discipline, forcing Vellaznimi into a high number of contested, late-clock attempts. The rebounding battle was equally one-sided, giving the hosts a steady supply of extra possessions.

Offensively, Trepca shared the ball beautifully. Their guards consistently found the open man, and the frontcourt finished efficiently around the rim. When Vellaznimi packed the paint, Trepca punished them from three-point range, finishing the night with a healthy shooting percentage from beyond the arc.

Standout Players

Trepca's point guard was the architect of the win, dictating tempo and delivering a standout performance with scoring, playmaking and defensive pressure. Their centre dominated the interior, finishing with a strong double-double and altering numerous shots at the defensive end.

For Vellaznimi, the shooting guard was the one consistent offensive threat, hitting several difficult shots that briefly kept his team competitive. Their young forward showed promise off the bench with energetic minutes in the second half.

Season Impact

The result reinforces Trepca's position among the Superliga's leading contenders and adds another emphatic home win to their record. A 26-point margin sends a clear message to the rest of the league about the difficulty of winning in Mitrovica.

Vellaznimi, meanwhile, will need to address their road performances. Turnovers and poor first-quarter starts have been recurring problems, and both were on full display in this defeat. The talent is there, but consistency remains the missing ingredient.
