The Club Friendship clash between Siden Torun and Anwil Wloclawek produced one of the most entertaining contests of the round, with the visitors leaving with a hard-fought 91-85 road victory. Anwil overturned an early deficit with a commanding second quarter and then held their nerve through a tense final five minutes, spoiling what had been a spirited home performance in front of a lively Torun crowd.

Match Overview

Siden Torun started the game with real intent, pushing the tempo and attacking the rim early. Their ball movement created open looks from the perimeter, and they closed the opening period with a four-point cushion. Anwil, however, adjusted quickly, tightening their half-court defense and finding rhythm from beyond the arc to swing the momentum before the break.

From that point on, the game settled into a high-quality, back-and-forth rhythm that ebbed and flowed with every possession. Neither team was able to build a double-digit lead, and the difference was rarely more than a single basket during a nerve-jangling fourth quarter.

Key Moments

The decisive stretch came late in the second quarter, when Anwil rattled off a run built on aggressive transition play and disciplined rebounding at both ends. That surge turned a small deficit into a half-time lead and shifted the psychological momentum of the contest.

Siden Torun responded admirably after the interval, stringing together a series of strong possessions to briefly reclaim the advantage in the third period. But every time the hosts threatened to pull away, Anwil answered with a timely three-pointer or a trip to the free-throw line. The final two minutes were dominated by free-throw shooting and clutch shot-making, and Anwil converted their opportunities with the composure of a team used to winning tight games.

Tactical Story

Anwil's success was rooted in their defensive adjustments. By switching more aggressively on screens and forcing Torun's guards away from the paint, they forced the hosts into contested jump shots during the crucial middle stretch of the game. On offense, Anwil's balanced attack kept the Torun defense guessing — points came from inside finishing, mid-range pull-ups, and spot-up shooting alike.

Siden Torun, for their part, played an attractive, up-tempo brand of basketball and won the rebounding battle in patches. Their downfall was a handful of untimely turnovers and a cold spell from the line, which proved costly in a game decided by single-possession swings.

Standout Performers

• Siden Torun: their lead guard controlled the tempo superbly and finished as the team's top scorer, while their interior presence battled hard on the boards throughout.
• Anwil Wloclawek: balanced scoring across the rotation proved decisive, with the backcourt combining efficient shooting with poise in the closing minutes.

What It Means

This result is an important one for Anwil, who showed they can win on the road in a hostile environment and close out tight games. For Siden Torun, the performance offered plenty of encouragement despite the defeat — the intensity and shot quality were there, and only small margins separated them from a victory. Both sides will take lessons from a contest that underlined just how competitive the Club Friendship standings can be.
